  • 1st WIN FOR FOOTBALL TEAM A THRILLER IN DOUBLE OVERTIME!

    Junior Braden Caldwell batted down a fourth down pass in the end zone to preserve the Rockets' first win of the season last Friday night at Beallsville 21-14. the nailbiter came down to fourth and three when Caldwell swatted the potential tying (depending on the conversion) attempt to the ground. The Rockets started quickly as Mikey Cottis drew first blood as he scored from two yards out to give the Rockets a 6-0 lead. Senior Matt Caldwell then electrified the Rockets fan base by returning a kickoff 92 yards to account for the second CV touchdown in the second quarter and scored the winning touchdown in the second overtime with a two yard run. Nate Novak kicked the PAT to round out the scoring for the Rockets and setting up Braden Caldwell's heroics on defense.

  • JUNIOR SYD LYON EARNS FIRST EVER CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE AWARD!

    Syd Lyon, a junior at Conotton Valley, was named Honorable Mention IVC on Sunday, October 14, 2018. Lyon, a member of the inaugural cross country team which was coached by Mrs. Debbie Gooding, becomes the first cross country athlete in the school's sports history to earn a postseason award. Lyon also earned two medals during the course of the season:.
     
    The rest of the cross country team is as follows: Kersten Ferguson, Samantha Myer, Madison Page, Justina Reardon, Dallas Romig, and Kaden Webber. Congratulations to Syd and all the members of the historic first CV cross country team who competed this fall.
     
    Football, golf, and volleyball individual awards will be announced at the Awards Night scheduled for November 13. 
  • GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TO PLAY BISHOP ROSECRANS IN TOURNEY PLAY

    The girls volleyball team will open postseason OHSAA tournament play at Shenandoah High School on Wednesday, October 17 at 5:30 PM. The girls will play the #8 seeded Bishops Rosecrans ladies. The Lady Rockets were voted the #10 seed. Read More
  • FALL SPORTS AWARDS NIGHT SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2018, at 6:00 PM.

     Awards presentations for both junior high and high school teams will commence in the following order:
    1. Cheerleaders
    2. Golf
    3. Cross country 
    4. Volleyball
    5. Football.

    After the awards are all distributed, and the coaches have finished talking about their seasons, there will be refreshments and desserts in the cafeteria.

  • LANTY SMITH NAMED TO HARRISON COUNTY HALL OF FAME!

    1960 Conotton Valley graduate Lanty Smith will be honored tomorrow at halftime of the Harrison Central-St Clairsville football game as one of the newest members of the Harrison County Hall of Fame. Smith, who is one of the greatest all-around athletes in Rockets history, excelled in football as a quarterback, linebacker, and punter; in basketball where he played all five positions; and in baseball where he played shortstop. Smith was named Special Mention All-Ohio as a junior and Honorable Mention All-Ohio as a senior in basketball. Read More

    MONIGOLD, ENOLD, 1977 BASEBALL TEAM HEAD CONOTTON VALLEY HALL OF FAME CLASS!

    1966 graduate Jim Monigold (pictured left) and 1956 graduate Jim Enold (pictured below) are the newest inductees to the CV Hall of Fame. The 1977 Baseball Team also was inducted along with Monigold and Enold on January 26-27, 2018.
                Monigold was a star athlete at Conotton Valley where he actually competed in five sports in one season -- baseball, basketball, football, golf, and track. He was named All-Eastern Ohio 1st Team in basketball his junior and senior years at CV. He went on to play both basketball and baseball at Ashland College his freshman and sophomore years. In 2000, he was inducted into the Harrison County Hall of Fame and the following year, he was inducted into the Cy Young Baseball Hall of Fame. He also served as the head baseball coach at Conotton Valley leading his team to district titles in 1977, 1982, and 1988.
     
     Enold lettered all four years in high school baseball as a pitcher/shortstop and was named the county MVP in   baseball all four years. He also participated in basketball all four years. Coming out of high school, he was signed by   the Pittsburgh Pirates and was subsequently traded to the Philadelphia Phillies after one year in the minor leagues.   An injury after playing major league baseball for four years brought his career to an abrupt end. He later served as a   pitching coach for Conotton Valley under Monigold and then later Bart Busby.
