Conotton Valley Union Local Schools

Buckeye Career Center will be dismissing at 9:30 a.m. due to a power outage. We will transport students by bus from the career center and use the standard drop-off procedures. For parents unable to pick their child up here at Conotton Valley, we'll supervise them until arrangement can be made to transport them home.

Today students across the State of Ohio, including our students at CV, took part in the Statewide Tornado Test. Here is some information about an app the Red Cross has released to improve emergency preparedness.

From the Halls of CV What a busy time of the year. It is hard to believe we have started the 4th quarter. Here at CV we have been celebrating kindness with our students and rewarding students who have been caught being respectful. It is fun to see students and staff excited about helping others. We were able to donate to our local food bank and humane society. We also donated items for the ER at Trinity hospital and to Golden Age Retreat. We are very proud of our students who helped organize those drives and brought in items to help others. The sunshine makes all of us think of summer but here at school we still have a lot to do to prepare for state testing and other end of the year events. We are so proud of our students as the end of the school year brings chances to show off some of their hard work and all they have achieved this year. Spring sports are starting, and we took some time to celebrate our winter sports athletes and their dedication and skills they showed off on the courts, lanes, and mats. We are also getting ready to experience the eclipse and have events planned in the middle and high school to educate the students on the eclipse as well as safe viewing strategies. Conferences will be held Monday, March 25th so students will not have school that day. Please call the school to schedule a time to meet. We also have a 2 hour delay Friday, March 22nd so teachers can attend training. Thank you for your continued support. Prom will be held at Warther's Museum Event Center on May 4, 2024. Walk -ins will begin at 6:30 pm. Students will dance from 7-9 pm. Tickets will be $15.00 per person There will be no dinner served. The theme is Neptune Nights- an under the sea type of theme.

Classes are cancelled for this Friday, March 1, 2024 so students, staff, and community may attend the state bowling championships! We wish our teams the best of luck. Truly, we are honored to be back-to-back participants at the state level. Let's go, Rockets, time to #SOAR.

Students will be able to leave after they complete the ACT, but they must bring a note and sign out in the main office. Go Rockets!

A Few Reminders from our Counselor Mrs. Edwards: The 8th grade trip to BCC is on March 6. Lunch is $3.35 unless you get free or reduced at CV. You can also pack their lunch. The students will be back at the school by 1:30. Also, CCP night at Kent State Tuscarawas will be on March 19 starting at 6:00. This is a mandatory information session if your child wants to apply for the College Credit Plus Program starting in the fall. If you have already attended a session, you are not required to go again. Mrs Edwards will be in attendance.

Hey, Rockets fans! It's time to show your SPIRIT! Our Conotton Valley 7th grade boys' team will play in the IVC Championship game on Thursday, February 8th @ East Canton High School. Game time is 5:30 pm. Let's pack the gym, be loud and proud, and cheer our guys to a championship. Time to SOAR!

Attention 11th grade students and parents: All 11th grade students, including those who attend Buckeye Career Center and Kent Tusc, will be taking the ACT at Conotton Valley High School on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. This test is required by the state of Ohio. All students have been registered for the district testing date and the test has been paid for by the State. Students need to report to the high school for the ACT by 8:00 am on Tuesday, February 27th. All 11th grade students will be able to leave after the completion of the ACT. They must bring a note and sign out in the main office. Please make arrangements for transportation. Thank you and Go Rockets

The district will be on a scheduled 2 hour delay on Friday, January 26, 2024. Our educators will be learning about ways to support the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students. We thank you for your understanding and support of our staff being life-long learners and role models to our students. Thank you!

Parents of students in grades 6-12 will be receiving information regarding a health survey that the Carroll County schools are being asked to complete.
